Too tight or too loose?
Let's get you the right fit.
ONTEX Care is the support service of the manufacturer, Ontex Medical Devices Manufacturing Pvt Ltd, Chennai, for ONTEX cotton compression stockings.
Feels too tight?
These are compression stockings: they are meant to feel tight. That firm squeeze is how compression stockings work. A stocking that slides on easily and doesn't feel tight gives no compression; it is just like an ordinary sock.
Watch our how-to-wear video (also the QR code on the box) and try once more tomorrow morning, before your legs swell. Many people find them comfortable then.
If wearing them causes pain, numbness, tingling or a change of colour, take them off and ask your doctor.
Sudden breathlessness, chest pain, or a leg that is suddenly swollen, painful, red or warm needs medical help at once: call 112 or 108.
Before you exchange: four quick checks
Many "wrong size" problems go away with these.
Wear them in the morning
Put them on before your legs swell. Later in the day they feel much tighter.
Smooth, not bunched
They should lie smooth on the leg, not gathered up like ordinary socks. Smooth out wrinkles with your palms.
Watch how to wear them
Our short video shows the easy way to put them on (also the QR code on the box).
Measure calf and ankle
Measure in the morning and compare with the chart below. If the two point to different sizes, the ankle wins.
How to put them on (protects the fabric)
- Remove rings and bracelets; keep nails short and smooth. Rubber or cotton gloves give grip and prevent snags.
- Turn the stocking inside out down to the heel, slip your foot in, then ease it up a little at a time.
- Never pull by the top band.
- A tight, firm fit is normal for Class 2 compression.
Find your size
Measure in the morning. Ankle (cB): the narrowest point, just above the ankle bone. Calf (cC): the widest point of the calf. Thigh (cG): for thigh-length only.
ONTEX size chart (cm)
